Indian Pharmaceutical Congress 2016
DM PHARMA participated in 68th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) 2016 that was held on 16th Dec at Andhra University Campus, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh(AP), India. The event was organised by Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association, Bangalore. It was founded by Late Prof. M. L. Schroff in December 1948 with an aim to advance and promote the cause of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Profession of Pharmacy. IPCA is the apex body representing the Indian Pharmacists working in various capacities, viz, Community Pharmacists, Hospital Pharmacists, in Industry (in Production, R&D, Quality Assurance Marketing, Regulatory Affairs) Academics and other disciplines and areas of work.
The theme of the 68th IPC was "Pharma Vision 2020-Pharmacists for a Healthy India" " with a tag line, ' Quality Pharmaceuticals and Patient Welfare '. The theme would allow the Congress to focus on challenges faced by the Indian Pharma Industry in continuous production of quality pharmaceuticals in compliance with the global regulatory requirements and the role of a pharmacy professional in that process. The theme would also address the role of pharmacists in the continued evaluation of these pharmaceuticals during their clinical use in assuring safety to the patients through pharmacovigilance & outcome evaluation studies and finally, how the pharmacists could transform India from the position of a global pharmacy to an enviable position of the global wellness provider. As pharmacists, we have the responsibility to focus on patient's welfare while producing quality pharmaceuticals.
