DicoHeal Tablets for Pain and Inflammation in Arthritis
Trypsin – Trypsin is an enzyme. An enzyme is a protein that speeds up a certain biochemical reaction. Trypsin is found in the small intestine. It can also be made from fungus, plants, and bacteria. But it is usually made for commercial purposes from the pancreas of livestock. Trypsin is given to people who lack the enzymes needed for digestion. It is also given in combination with bromelain and rutin for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Some people apply trypsin directly to wounds and ulcers to remove dead tissue and improve healing. There is also a combination prescription spray-on product that is used for healing mouth ulcers. It contains trypsin, Peru balsam, and castor oil.
Bromelain – Bromelain is used for reducing swelling (inflammation), especially of the nose and sinuses, after surgery or injury. It is also used for hay fever, treating a bowel condition that includes swelling and ulcers (ulcerative colitis), removing dead and damaged tissue after a burn (debridement), preventing the collection of water in the lung (pulmonary edema), relaxing muscles, stimulating muscle contractions, slowing clotting, improving the absorption of antibiotics, preventing cancer, shortening labor, and helping the body get rid of fat. Bromelain is also used in combination with trypsin (a protein) and rutin (a substance found in buckwheat). Bromelain used in this way seems to reduce pain and improve knee function in people with arthritis.
Rutoside – Rutin, also called Rutoside is a plant pigment (flavonoid) that is found in certain fruits and vegetables. Rutin is used to make medicine. The major sources of rutin for medical use include buckwheat, Japanese pagoda tree, and Eucalyptus macrorhyncha. Some people believe that rutin can strengthen blood vessels, so they use it for varicose veins, internal bleeding, hemorrhoids, and to prevent strokes due to broken veins or arteries (hemorrhagic strokes). Rutin is also used to prevent the side effect of cancer treatment called mucositis. This is a painful condition marked by swelling and ulcer formation in the mouth or lining of the digestive tract. In combination with the proteins trypsin and bromelain, rutin is also used for osteoarthritis. Rutin is sometimes used on the skin to reduce wrinkles.
Diclofenac – Diclofenac is used to relieve pain, swelling (inflammation), and joint stiffness caused by arthritis. Reducing these symptoms helps you do more of your normal daily activities. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). This medicine works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation. Diclofenac is used to treat mild to moderate pain, or signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.
MECHANISM OF ACTION: Dicoheal tablets, a combination of Trypsin, Bromelain, Rutoside Trihydrate and Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory painkiller. Dicoheal is used to reduce pain, swelling and improve knee function in people with arthritis. Trypsin acts as a fibrinolytic agent that minimizes necrosis and scar formation to fasten the healing process. Bromelain decreases neutrophil migration and acute responses to inflammatory stimuli. Rutoside reduces oedema and inhibits platelet aggregation. Diclofenac relieves pain and swelling.
It is usually well tolerated. Harmless alteration in the consistency, color & odor of stool may occur. A sensation of fullness, flatulence, and occasional episodes of nausea are possible during high- dosage administration.
